Welcome to the Journey

Posted 9/7/2009 2:38pm by Tracy Youngblood.

Welcome Old Friends and New!

Here on the farm, we observe Labor Day..................pretty much the same as MonDAY, TuesDAY, WednesDAY, ThursDAY..................you get the idea!  This is not to dishonor a holiday, but the animals might protest, break and run for the hills!

Hello and Welcome
I want to say hello and welcome to the many new folks I had the opportunity to meet and share with at the Polk County Fair last week.  We were overwhelmed at the crowds of new faces pleased about clean, wholesome food that is also local.  We raise beef, lamb, goat without hormones, antibiotics or GRAIN.  This is truly a distinguishing characteristic that takes our products beyond organic.  We also raise our pigs on pasture where they feast on a variety of nuts, acorns, grasses and roots.  This creates a superb flavor for your tablefare!  We sell individual cuts of beef, lamb, pork and goat as well as bulk quanties of whole, half and quarter.  We have been selling our meats from the farm, local, weekly farmer's markets, and off our website.   If you are considering eating healthier, consider this:

Grassfed Meat is:

Lower in total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol and calories.
Higher in CLA (conjugated linoleic acid).
Higher levels of Omega-3.
Higher levels of Beta-Carotene.
Higher levels of Vitamin E.
contributing to the sustainability of small scale farmers.
enlivening local economies.
a cleaner way to raise animals producing a higher quality end product.

Someting New

We are introducing Buying Clubs.  This will be the most efficient way possible for you to purchase our products.  A buying club is a group of people who place direct orders with us and we deliver it to a designated location each month in your city.  There are some openings in the Texarkana Buying Club and also the Mena Buying Club.

1.  You place an order directly with Youngblood Grassfed Farm by phone or email.  We put your order together.

2. You meet us at a host home, business or designated location on a predetermined date and time. Delivery will be approximately once a month, unless needed more!  We have a group and are working on site locations in Texarkana and Mena, AR.  If you are interested in providing a host site or joining the Texarkana or Mena group, please call 479-243-5473 or email me.

3.  You bring a check or cash and your cooler.  We swap the meat from our freezer to your cooler, you take home your products and fire up the grill!

4.  You must be present or have someone representing you to pick up your order.  We will not leave it there if no one is there to pay for it and pick it up.

***Each order is filled in the order received.
***We are firm in our delivery deadlines and pick up times.
***NO minimum order.
***If you need to know your order total before pick up, call or email.
***Buying clubs will be the first to receive updates on availability of new products.
***Referrals are appreciated and rewarded!
***Hosts are appreciated and rewarded!

***Did you not see your city listed as a buying club, call or email me and let's get one started.

"Cow~pooling"

We try to be versatile in our products and availability.  We try to make acquiring our meats economical as well.  Cow-pooling in a new way to take advantage of buying meat in bulk.  Cow-pooling is when you join with another family or more to buy a whole, half or quarter* beef (or pork) directly from the farm, ready for processing at a processor of your choice.  This ensures you a very reasonable price with a more managable amount of meat for smaller freezer spaces.

***WE CURRENTLY HAVE  1/2 A BEEF READY FOR COW POOLING***

*To halve quarters will be the responsibility of the group cow-pooling.  This will not be done by the processor.  You will have all the choices of custom processing, but the order will not be divided out smaller than a quarter by the processor.  This can be done after the meat is picked up.

Remember to join as a fan of ours on Facebook.

We will be at each market this week, DeQueen, Mena and Texarkana.  I hope to see you there.

Here is a glimpse of our crazy, last week!  Enjoy and be blessed!  Tracy
