Youngblood Grassfed Farm News
Hello Friends,
Today is a completely beautiful day! I can't wait to get outside and work. But for now, work is inside with the kid's schooling. I hope you are blessed with a tremendous day and the ability to be out in it!
As you know, we took our animals to be processed on Sunday. We are expecting the harvest back the last of April. We desperately need freezer space. Andy had been looking into buying an ice cream truck freezer. The price was right, but the logistics of getting it here were becoming troublesome. Then, all in GOD's time, we were offered a FREE walk in freezer. Let me repeat that: a FREE FREEZER. We are still astounded. The gentleman who processes our custom meat orders called with the information. All that was needed was to go and take the freezer apart. So Troy and Andy, and a couple others, worked till about midnight taking the freezer apart and then drove 1 1/2 hours home. A million thanks to our abundant Father in Heaven and our friend Troy! We still have work to do to get it put together and running, but what a blessing. If you know me, you know I love a deal almost better than anything!!
Andy had a truly inspiring and educational time at the farm conference he was able to attend the first of the month. He is reworking some goals and plans along with formulating some new ones. Another benefit outside of education is the connection with other farmers. They were also able to tour Jon and Wendy Taggart's farm and business operation, Burgundy Pasture Beef. I had to repent for jealousy! Their business intrigues me and I would love to be able to visit with them. I made him ask all sorts of questions, but it's just not the same!
The ewes are laying down some babies! Each time we check them, the herd has grown! They are some of the most adorable creatures. We have had one lamb that was killed by buzzards and one that was left. We don't know which ewe she is out of, likely a yearling. So we brought her home and Matti has a new job. You can tell she is hard pressed!

Our Farm Day was a huge success in terms of the learning that took place. We didn't have a huge turnout. Some were obvious time restrictions. Others had plans changed due to an incredible tornado that tore through our area two days before. We were out of range, with only electrical outages. We sustained no damage from any storms! Here is a picture of Farm Day time in the field!

We will be returning to market very soon. I hope to see you there. I will be ready with a supply of grassfed goodness!
